30 Day Snap

This was sprinkleofglitter.blogspot.co.uk/ idea I believe and seems like such a fun thing to do in June. If you go over to her blog you'll get the full instructions but the idea is to take one photo per day for each of the days of June and post it to document your life. Now I can't promise you that there will be exciting pictures of I don't know, me skydiving, but I will try my hardest to capture a moment of my life each day.
So that was my little intro to what I shall be doing with my blog over the next month, I will still be putting in normal beauty posts as well.

Tag: 7 Deadly Sins of Beauty

So I was tagged to do this by the lovely Emily B who has a great blog so everyone please go visit her blog I shall leave her link at the bottom of the page! Anyways without any further ado here is the answers to the tag!

Greed- What is your most expensive makeup product?
My Urban Decay eye shadow pallets. I’m not one for shelling out too much money on higher end makeup but I absolutely love my Naked, Naked 2 and Smokey pallets. They are seriously worth the money although I would say you don’t really need both the naked pallets. The quality of the eye shadows are amazing and so is the colour range. They also blend brilliantly so your eye shadow always looks good.
Wrath- Which beauty product do you have a love/hate relationship with?
This would have to be bronzer and brow products. Firstly bronzer, I love how it can achieve that healthy glow or it can contour your face into that of a slim supermodel, but there’s always a 50/50 chance of me mucking it up and just looking orange. Secondly are brow products some days I can get my not very full brows to look perfectly arched and wonderful and the next day it can look like a 2 year old filled in my brows with a crayon.
Gluttony- What make up brand takes up most of your collection?
None really if I’m being completely honest. My collection is a mixture of everything drugstore with a few high end bits and pieces.
Sloth- What makeup product do you neglect due to laziness?
This is easy! Lip products I hardly ever wear them. I always buy them with good intentions of wearing them, and I do if I’m going on a night out or a party, but for everyday wear they are all too often neglected.
Lust- What makeup item is on your beauty wish list?
A Chanel foundation! I’m not exactly sure which one as I know they all work differently of different skin types but they all have great reviews and look beautiful on.
Envy- What make up product looks great on others but not yourself?
Winged liner. I just can never make it work I’m not sure if it’s because of my eye shape or how I am applying it but it honestly just looks awful every time I try it.

Pride-  What beauty product gives you the most self confidence?

I would have to say foundation because if my skin looks good e.g. clear, healthy and glowy I just feel a lot better and feel I look better.
So I hope you all enjoyed todays blog post, remember to follow to always be kept up to date on my new posts. I almost forgot to say, I tag all of you to do this tag as well! Catchya Later DaisyAndMints x

So Today I Went To MAC

Hmmmm two sort of haul posts in a row I think shopping may have become my new obsession! Anyways I went to a MAC counter today and with me only being 17 (and having an extreme baby face) I was a bit worried. I've heard so many stories of snooty counter assistants just being mean BUT I have to say this was not the case at all they were so friendly and helpful! Didn't push sales on to you and gave you time to decide what you wanted.

So the first thing I looked at was a new eye shadow to use as a brow powder. Being naturally blonde I had heard that "Omega" by MAC was a great colour to use (If you watch Tanya Burr or Pixiwoo on YouTube I'm sure you've heard the same thing). So after a bit of help I settled on "Omega" and bought that at the price of £12 which I personally don't think is overly expensive as it is incredibly difficult to find a highly pigmented matte eye shadow on the high street for much less than that.

I also decided to treat myself to a new lipstick as I had been lusting after a Mac one for as long as I can remember. I have a few different nudes/nude pinks (maybe 3/4) so thought I would go for a wearable bright spring colour. I settled on one called "Vegas Volt" which is the most beautiful coral/red/pink colour! It's long lasting which is always a plus and doesn't settle too badly into my lips which are always very chapped no matter how much lip balm I apply. It cost me £14 which was a bit more of a jab at my wallet but hey it was a treat!

All in all I am extremely happy with my purchases but with the price of MAC makeup I don't think you guys will be seeing another "So Today I Went To MAC" post for a couple months :P

So today I went to Lush!

As the title reveals I took a little trip to lush today, I think I've already mentioned on my blog how much I like lush but honestly the smell gives me a headache! The products smell amazing individually but mushed into one shop my sense of smell freaks out!

I bought a few different things but I thought I would do individual posts so I can give a bit more detail without a 20 page post. One of the things I bought was the "Buttercup" gift box. I did actually buy this for myself as it lets you try 2 different products and when you are as indecisive as me a little assistance never goes a miss. I had actually gone in to buy a birthday present for someone hence why I was looking at the boxed gift (don't worry I got them something as well). Anyways this contains 100g of "Honey I washed the Kids Soap" along with a "Butterball Bath Ballistic" both of which I think smell amazing.
Once unwrapped from what I think we can all agree was lovely packaging the actual products were in a plain cardboard box. I do really like how it was already pre-wrapped and especially if you are buying it for yourself it really feels like you're buying yourself a real treat.
The two products were sandwiched between what lush refers to as "Eco Flo". The description of Eco Flo that is given is "A by product of the crisp industry! it's expanded waste potato starch, which is then puffed up to create these cleaver kernels". I really do like Lush's eco friendly approach to its packaging.

Overall I'm really excited to try this product! Some more useful information is that it cost £7.95 which some people might say "ohhh that's a bit steep" but you are getting two good sized products so I really feel that from lush this is good value.

Exam Stress!

Its that time of year where in the UK people are sitting their exams! I don't know about you guys out there but I'm finding it very STRESSFUL! so I thought I'd give a little inspirational quote.

"Life is too short not to put on some wellingtons and jump in some puddles"

I don't really know who said this or is on record for saying this. Basically what I mean by this is exam time is a really short period of time when you think about it so just get stuck in, don't be distracted and most of all do your best!
We live in a world where you think you need to be book smart and get straight A's and go to an Oxbridge university but as long as you do YOUR best, not anyone else's best, then you will be successful.
So good luck to everyone who will be sitting exams or even if you don't still take some inspiration from this quote and throw yourself into everything you do in life because opportunities don't really come along twice.

Dainty Doll Cream Blusher Review

Recently I had a slight spending spree, I was good though as I went online and got everything at a discounted price. One of my purchases was a cream blush by 'Dainty Doll' and I have to say I do quite like it.

It's a nice feminine pink colour which I love and although looks quite bright it honestly doesn't go on that bright and even if like me you are a bit too blush happy it can be easily blended out. It has become my everyday blush very quickly as after a bit of work on my application technique it takes me two minutes to apply in the morning.

I bought in the shade 001 and as I said I really like it a lot. It has a creamy (duh) non greasy texture which gives a glow to your face rather than making it look shiny. It's packaging is also incredibly chic and doesn't get too mucky when being thrown in and out of your makeup bag.

To recap here are the good points;
-Not greasy.
-Gives a healthy looking glow.
-In my opinion is a lovely colour .
-Can be put on bright or blended out to barely anything.
-Has a good sized mirror inside which is great for reapplying on the go and because its a cream product it doesn't get all mucky.

Bad points;
-The first couple times I used it I found it went patchy but I had never used a cream blush before so this is probably from me being fairly new at applying it (got the hang of it now).

Hope you all have a great day! and thank you for taking the time to read :) Catchya Later DaisyAndMints x
